Book ConsultationWhy Two Prices?
Most of our patients choose the local-anaesthetic option. An ultrasound-guided spermatic cord block provides complete pain relief during surgery and for several hours afterward, and it avoids the additional anaesthesia team, monitoring, and recovery time that a general anaesthetic requires. Mild sedation is available if needed and is included in the $7,000 option. General anaesthesia remains available for patients who prefer to be fully asleep.
If the Operation Cannot Be Completed
During the operation we assess fluid from the testicular end of the vas. If the findings suggest a vasovasostomy is unlikely to succeed, we do not press on with a reconnection that is not in your best interest. If we stop at exploration, you pay the $2,000 exploration fee rather than the full procedure fee. We would rather have that conversation honestly, during the operation, than complete a procedure that is unlikely to work.
Financing
We've partnered with Beautifi to help make the procedure accessible. If you prefer to spread the cost over a payment plan, Beautifi offers monthly or bi-weekly options. Use the calculator to explore them. Applying takes minutes and won't affect your credit score.
Coverage and Tax
AHCIP does not cover vasectomy reversal, and coverage under private insurance is uncommon. That said, some employer health spending accounts may reimburse part of the cost, and surgical fees paid to a physician may qualify for the federal medical expense tax credit. Check with your plan provider and your accountant, as individual circumstances vary.
How Our Fees Compare
Published prices for microsurgical vasectomy reversal in Canada generally range from roughly $7,000 to $15,000, depending on the centre and the anaesthesia used. Our local-anaesthetic approach is the main reason we can keep the fee at the lower end of that range without compromising on the essentials: an accredited non-hospital surgical facility (NHSF) at Ross Medical and a high-powered operating microscope for the reconnection itself.
If you are weighing reversal against IVF, the cost structures differ in an important way: a reversal is a single fee, while IVF is priced per cycle. We compare the two paths in detail in Vasectomy Reversal vs. IVF.
